MATCO designed and supplied a local beer manufacturer to central Ontario with a variety of promotional electronic devices including the popular "Musical Crown", "Box That Rocks" and a high technology product coined "GPS in a Bottle and Can" that was supported by a true backend tracking system. The Musical Crown product was supplied for a total of twelve (12) years and was seen as the only other Canadian promotion with proven success and longevity as compared to a famous coffee "Rim" promotion.
The "Box That Rocks" was an electronic module intended to be placed to the interior of a case of beer and when the consumer opened the box lid would activate the module and commence to play a music and message informing the consumer they have won!
GPS in a Bottle and Can products were developed from MATCO's existing automotive technologies that included a GPS receiver and cellular transceiver placed to a typical 341ml beverage bottle and a 355ml aluminum can container. The GPS in a Bottle / Can borrowed from MATCOs experience and expertise related to automotive telematics.
All of these items were designed and supplied as application specific entities and required research and development and custom engineering along with project management from start to finish.
